Untouchable

~ The 1580s Germain Pilon (French Mannerist Sculptor, ca 1530-90)

“…only God knows what they will do to you.”

“You seem so far away, with your gaze averted; yet still I feel that you are fully aware of my presence and proximity.  Then how can I let you go without leaving a mark?   I know they are all waiting to take you away from me and only God knows what they will do to you.  Though I have tried to set you free so many times before, but then again I asked myself,  “How can I let you go?!”  …When,  all I really want to do is let you know how deeply you have touched my soul; so deeply in fact that until I’m down below, I don’t really want to possess you – to kiss nor to caress you , but if only I could touch you…Though I can’t leave you alone, nor can I keep you here selfishly as mine own…but if only the truth be known…I Can Not touch You…!”
