Long-time Longing…

The Long-time Longing

Your love is like the thorn,
On the stem of a rose that once was red,
For it has survived much longer,
Than what I had laid to rest,
But it still hurts…
…Nevertheless may God bless,
All the tears that well inside mine heart,
And all my soul that has bled,
When all the nights I’ve laid awake,
To tred the past to trace those days,
To live those moments more,
Right up until that wretched hour and place,
When away we both fled…
And then once again…
I die once again,
A thousand deaths,
Which are a one-thousand times more blessed,
Because my Love – your love is like the thorn,
On the stem of a rose that once was red,
I know it will survive much longer,
Than what you have laid to rest,
But it still hurts…oh how it still hurts…
